Paatal Lok Row: Delhi man files complaint against Anushka Sharma

A complaint has been filed in Delhi against 'Paatal Lok' producer Anushka Sharma for maligning various community sentiments in her Amazon Prime series.

New Delhi: A complaint has been lodged in Mukherjee Nagar police station, Delhi against Bollywood actress, Anushka Sharma for her web series, 'Paatal Lok' which allegedly hurt the sentiments of people hailing from various communities, a source said on Tuesday.

A person named Manjeet Mata filed a complaint against the actress who has produced the controversial web series 'Paatal lok', an official said. Starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Neeraj Kabi, Ishwak Singh and Abhishek Bannerjee among others, Paatal Lok is the story of a Delhi cop who finds himself entangled in a web of lies and deceit where bureaucracy, politics and even media play significant roles. Further, it has stirred up various controversies despite receiving positive reviews from the critics.

Earlier, BJP MLA Nandkishor Gurjar filed a complaint for allegedly using his picture in the series without his permission. On the other hand, Sikh community as well as the Gorkha community have also filed complaints respectively. While the Sikh community has objected the scene where two Sikh men are shown in poor light, Gorkha community claims that more than 10.5 million people in India speak Nepali and they have been deeply affected by a scene in the series.
