New Delhi: In a heart-rending tale, a couple was forced to set off on a 20-kilometre-long march to get their ailing son treated, as no transport is available in the national capital due to the lockdown.

The couple, natives of Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district, had moved to Delhi to get their son treated at AIIMS.

They are currently put up at the Bhatti Mines area of Delhi, as their son has been availing treatment for the past few days.

However, with no transport available, the couple has no other choice but to travel the 20 kilometres on foot to AIIMS.

The man alleged that he was denied even a wheelchair this morning, which has forced the couple to carry their son on their own shoulders to the hospital.

The couple meanwhile, has appealed to the government to provide transport arrangements during the lockdown for people who are availing treatment.
