New Delhi:Odisha's fifth time Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence, on Tuesday, asking him to give special category status to the state.
He also discussed the need for adequate Central assistance for the districts which were being damaged during cyclone Fani. He demanded 5 lakh new houses, along with the aid of Rs 5,227.68 crores for the damage. Patnaik will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind after meeting PM Modi.
Naveen Patnaik meet PM, asks for special status to Odisha However, he refused of having any discussion about the Ayushman Bharat and for the post of Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha, ending speculation over BJD MP from Cuttack being appointed for the post.
Patnaik has come to Delhi for a week-long visit, for the first time after taking the charge of Odisha Chief Minister for the fifth time. He is also likely to attend NITI Aayog's Governing Council meeting which will be held on June 15.
