Voter turnout is positive and encouraging, says Nirmala

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman addresses a press conference where she briefs about the present scenario of the first phase of the democratic festival that is being celebrated around the country.

New Delhi: Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman, while addressing a press conference on Thursday said according to the inputs reported by our party workers and the election commission, the voting environment is quite encouraging and if it continues till the evening then there will be a good and respectable voters turnout.

"BJP and NDA workers are extremely motivated by this positive turnout.Voters are participating in this democratic festival which is quite encouraging for the country's democracy", she said.

Mrs. Sitaraman also said as per the election commission record till 1 pm, voting was till 33% and we are hoping that it will go more than 70 to 80%.

She also added that we are thankful to our voters, our party and also PM who appealed to vote and turnout shows seems that people's faith is encouraging and that is really a good sign.
