Minor raped by 55-yr-old man known to family

A minor girl was raped by a 55-year-old man known to her family in Malviya Nagar area of South Delhi. The accused was a regular visitor to the girl's house. He assaulted and threatened her to not tell anyone about it. When her parents came to know about it, they informed the police and the accused was arrested.

New Delhi:A 10-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted several times by a 55-year-old man in South Delhi's Malviya Nagar. The accused was known to the girl's family and was a regular visitor to their place.

"The victim lives in Malviya Nagar area with her parents and younger brother. The accused lives with his wife and children in the same area," said the police.

He took advantage of his closeness to the family and allegedly sexually assaulted the minor. He also threatened her not to inform anyone about it.

When her parents observed some change in her behaviour and scars on her body, they enquired and came to know about the accused's wrongdoings. They immediately informed the police and the accused was arrested from his residence.

Police conducted a medical examination of the girl which proved the sexual assault. The girl was counselled and sent back home. Further investigation in the case is still on.
