MHA took bold decisions in 100-days, says former BSF director general

Former BSF director general Prakash Singh in an interview with ETV Bharat said Home Ministry in last 100 days has taken several firm decisions including the completion of National Register of Citizen (NRC) final draft in Assam and the modification of Article 370.

New Delhi: As the Union government celebrates first 100-days in office, former BSF general Prakash Singh has claimed that Union Home Ministry should be given credit for its achievements when it comes to Kashmir, NRC and the UAPA bill.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, former BSF general said that Union Home Minister has stuck to his poll promises and has delivered on some key areas.

"Amit Shah has shown that he believes in producing results and instead of giving promises and assurances," former BSF director general Prakash Singh said.

"He has taken some firm decisions in the first 100-days of this government," he added.

Speaking on the issue of modification of Article 370, Prakash Singh claimed that real test for the Home Ministry lies in how they normalise the situation in the valley.

"In every sphere, I feel there is business-like approach and government is going ahead with its manifesto promises," Prakash Singh said on Modi 2.0's governance model.

The former BSF DG further said that triple talaq, amendment of UAPA as well as strengthening the NIA are also some other major decisions that were taken by the Home Ministry.

"They should be able to sustain the progress made," he added.

It came to power with a thumping victory, with BJP’s landslide triumph in the general elections held in the summer of 2019. When voted back to power, the Government carried along with it, hopes, aspirations and expectations to deliver more in its second term.
