New Delhi:Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Giriraj Singh on Thursday said Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) with diverse interventions along the fisheries value chain would revolutionise the fisheries and aquaculture sector.
He further added that the honourable Prime Minister has handed over 294 crore schemes related to fisheries, animal husbandry and agriculture to the state of Bihar. "Lakhs of people will get employment; additional five million tonnes of fish will be produced in five years, this will double the export of fish to 100000 crore rupees," the union minister said.
He further informed that PM Modi inaugurated some innovative projects- the fish seed farm at Sitamarhi district, the College of Fisheries, Kishanganj with the investment of Rs 10 crore and the aquatic referral laboratory at Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU).
