New Delhi: As the clock strikes 6 in the evening, poor people in the vicinity of Jama Masjid rush to Kabutar Market to get free Iftar. Arranged by Abid Ali, a travel agency owner, this free Iftar runs for a whole month during Ramadan.

In the month of Ramzan, Muslims do not consume food or water from dawn to dusk. However, in the evening they break their fast. Minutes before 6 pm people congregate at the decorated 'Iftari' and wait for the Iftar siren, and later they break their fast.

Ramzan is considered as the holiest month for the Muslims. It is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

Devotees in the month of Ramzan sacrifice their worldly pleasure and pray five times a day and read the holy Quran.
