New Delhi: The Delhi police has arrested a 22-year-old civil services aspirant for allegedly running an organised racket in illegally downloading and selling videos of a private coaching centre.
The accused Priyadarshan Tiwari had bought an app from a known coaching institute in Mukherjee Nagar under a fake name and downloaded videos as well as shared them on Telegram and YouTube.
A complaint from the Civil Services Coaching Centre was received by the Cyber Cell, north district, in which the complainant levelled allegations against unknown persons for running an organised racket -- cheating, online fraud, data theft, including copying, downloading and extracting Intellectual Property.
The complainant alleged that due to the Covid-induced lockdown, he launched a mobile application for Android phones and tablets, providing coaching for civil services examination, on May 21, 2020. But later in October, he came to know that the videos uploaded on his mobile application were already available on a YouTube channel.
