Punjab Chief Minister paystribute to Vajpayee through tweet

Paying tribute to the former prime minister, Punjab Chief Minister Caption Amarinder Singh described Vajpayee as a statesman par excellence who was respected across party lines.

"My humble tributes to our former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji on his death anniversary. Atal Ji was a statesman par excellence and was respected across party lines," he tweeted.

Haryana CM pays tribute to Vajpayee

Haryana Chief Minister cand his Punjab counterpart Amarinder Singh paid tribute to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary on Sunday.

In his tweet in Hindi, Khattar described Vajpayee as a great poet, great orator and a great human being. He also hailed Vajpayee for his value-based politics, principles and farsightedness, and said that these continue to inspire all.

President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday unveiled a portrait of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) headquarters at Azad Bhavan, ITO in New Delhi on his second death anniversary.  

Attending the event through video conferencing, the President called Vajypayee a great hero who added many glorious chapters in the politics of India.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary.

He died at AIIMS in Delhi after prolonged illness on August 16, 2018.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary.

Taking to his Twitter handle, PM Modi said: "Tributes to beloved Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. India will always remember his outstanding service and efforts towards our nation’s progress."

New Delhi:Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his second death anniversary on Sunday.

Shah posted the tribute on Twitter in Hindi which roughly translates to, "Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji was the voice of patriotism and Indian culture. He was a dedicated politician as well as a skilled organiser who played an important role in the foundation and growth of the BJP and inspired millions of workers to serve the country."

Born on December 25, 1924, in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior, Vajpayee was the first-ever person from the BJP to become the Prime Minister. He served as Prime Minister thrice -- briefly in 1996, from 1998 to 1999 and then for a full five-year term between 1999 and 2004.

Apart from politics, Vajpayee was a prominent writer and penned a number of poems. After 2004, the BJP stalwart retired from active politics owing to his feeble health.

The veteran BJP leader passed away on August 16, 2018, at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in Delhi after a prolonged illness. December 25 is celebrated as 'Good Governance Day' in Vajpayee's honour.
