New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday lashed out at Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government in Delhi claiming that it failed to fulfil its promises and is not giving permission to prosecute Tukde-Tukde gang.

Addressing election rallies at Karawal Nagar and Mustafabad in the poll-bound state, Shah also accused the Congress of pursuing vote bank politics and alleged that they had instigated riots in the name of protest against Citizenship Amendment Act.

"AAP government made tall promises and ruled for five years dragging the state backwards," Shah said.

"Anti-India slogans were raised in JNU and Modiji put those responsible in jail. Permission is required of the Delhi government to prosecute them but it is not being given," Shah alleged.

"These are the people who caused riots in Delhi. The city cannot remain safe under them," he added.

The Model Code of Conduct came into force in Delhi on January 6 after the Election Commission of India announced that the assembly election will be held on February 8. The counting of votes will take place on Feb 11.
