New Delhi (India):Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has denied the allegations of the Congress by saying that if Congress is defending DK Shivkumar, then the entire Congress party is corrupt.
Earlier Congress alleged that the central government is misusing Income Tax Dept, ED, Reserve Bank of India, Election Commission. Since 5 years BJP is doing this. They are killing democracy.
Sambit Patra, BJP's spokesperson told ETV Bharat," Congress Leader DK Shivkumar is involved in money laundering case as huge amount of money is found in his home and that's why actions have been taken against him. BJP is a transparent government and is exposing all the corruptors one-by-one."
Sambit Patra, BJP's spokesperson told ETV Bharat," BJP is a transparent government and is exposing all the corruptors one-by-one." He further said that Congress wants to promote corruption in the country and that's why they are giving such false statements.
Taking a dig on P Chidambaram for his 5% GDP gesture, Patra said, "Chidambaram meant that he is not 5% but 100% corrupt. He has forgotten that during his government GDP was 3%."
This came after Congress tweeted, "We strongly condemn the high-handed tactics & vendetta politics being deployed against Congress leaders. The arrest of Shri @DKShivakumar is yet another attempt by the govt to distract the public from their failed policies & the sorry state of the economy.#BJPVendettaPolitics"
DK Shivkumar tweeted on September 3, a day before his arrest, "I congratulate my BJP friends for finally being successful in their mission of arresting me. The IT and ED cases against me are politically motivated and I am a victim of BJP's politics of vengeance and vendetta."
Congress Minister Ramalinga Reddy said, "This is 100% politically motivated. The central government is misusing Income Tax Dept, ED, Reserve Bank of India, Election Commission, everything. Since 5 years they are doing this. They are killing democracy."
Karnataka Congress has called a statewide protest against the arrest of party leader DK Shivakumar today.
