I stand in support of CAA, says Kailash Kher

Singer-composer Kailash Kher recently said that he stands in support of the Citizenship Amendment Bill. He said that every religion gives lessons of love and compassion therefore it is apt to help religiously persecuted minorities from other countries.

New Delhi: Reknowned singer and composer Kailash Kher on Sunday expressed his stand on the much talked about Citizenship Amendment Act.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Kher said: "I stand in support of the CAA. It is an appropriate decision to provide citizenship to both refugees who have been living in the country for so many years, and to those who are suffering in other countries."

"Every religion teaches us lessons of love and compassion," he said, further questioning: "Who are these people who are opposing the this kind gesture of providing citizenship to religiously persecuted minorities?"
