New Delhi: The mother of the 2012 Delhi gang rape victim Nirbhaya, said she hoped for a fresh hanging date for the convicts today as they have exhausted all legal remedies.
Speaking to a news agency, she said, "The four convicts have exhausted all legal remedies. I hope that a fresh death warrant will be issued by the court today."
Earlier yesterday, she had thanked President Ram Nath Kovind for rejecting the mercy petition of Pawan Gupta, one of the four death row convicts in the case.
A Delhi court yesterday issued notice to the four death-row convicts on an application moved by the Delhi government seeking issuance of fresh date for their execution.
The court had sought the convict's response and posted the matter to 2 pm on Thursday.
The execution of the death warrants of the four convicts - Mukesh Kumar Singh (32), Pawan (25), Vinay Sharma (26) and Akshay Kumar Singh (31) - has been deferred thrice so far due to delays by them in exhausting legal remedies. All the convicts in the case are to be hanged together.

The first date of execution of the four convicts, January 22, was postponed to February 1. Then the trial court on January 31 stayed the execution till further orders as the convicts had not exhausted their legal remedies.
The court on February 17 directed that the four be hanged at 6 a.m. on March 3. It was the third date of execution of the death warrants
A 23-year-old woman paramedic student, who came to be known as 'Nirbhaya -- the fearless -- was gang-raped and savagely assaulted in a moving bus in south Delhi on December 16, 2012. She succumbed to injuries on December 29 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore where she was taken for better medical treatment.
A total of six people -- Mukesh Singh, Vinay Sharma, Akshay Kumar Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Ram Singh and a juvenile -- were convicted in the gang rape and murder of the paramedic student.
The President has already rejected the mercy petitions of Mukesh, Vinay and Akshay. While Ram Singh had committed suicide in jail, the juvenile was released from a remand home after completion of his term.
