New Delhi:A 21-day lockdown amid Coronavirus has affected thousands of people, especially the migrant workers has left unemployed and has no food to eat.
The national capital Delhi has been witnessing the problems of migrant workers since the lockdown.
Many people, organisations, communities came forward to help the needy in this rough time.
Gurudwara in Delhi provides food to needy amid COVID-19 lockdown One such example can be seen at Gurdwara Nanaksar in Greater Kailash 2 of Delhi.
More than two thousand food packets are being prepared daily in Gurdwara Nanaksar and then it is distributed daily to the needy people.
ETV Bharat team reached the Gurudwara to know how the food is being prepared there and how it is packed and transported to the people.
food being prepared in Gurudwara In an interaction with ETV Bharat, Meenakshi Malhotra, caretaker of the food arrangements, said, "Food packets are being prepared continuously here since March 30. With the help of police and NGOs, the food is being transported to needy."
The food which we provide is very clean and fresh. We all have started making food with the target of 700 packets and now it reached to 2700, she added.
PM Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown to control the dealy Coronavirus disease to affect the people. Also, it has been ordered to avoid any social gatherings.
The lockdown will be in effect till 14th April.
Odisha government has extended his lockdown period till 30th April.
