New Delhi: Former Union Minister and member of Parliament from Anandpur Sahib, Manish Tewari on Sunday said that the Central Government will have to withdraw the farm laws otherwise it will adversely affect the lives of 65 crore Indians.
Tewari was one of the Congress MPs along with Parliamentarians Preneet Kaur, Ravneet Bittu, Gurjeet Aujla and Amar Singh who protested at Jantar Mantar on Sunday voicing their agreement with the protesting farmers.
Adding that after 1952, it has never happened that the winter session of Parliament is not held, Tewari said the central government should call the winter session of Parliament and repeal the farming laws.
Dodging the question regarding the reaction of international bodies on the protests, Tewari said he is concerned about his people - the people of his constituency - and it is his responsibly to deliver their [people] message to the Centre.
