Former President Pranab Mukherjee donates his house to Ramakrishna mission in Delhi. This Ashram houses about 25 boys who are either poor or orphans and every facility is being provided to them. Ramakrishna Mission is a religious and spiritual organisation that carries out the philanthropic work.

New Delhi:A house built in Noida Sector 26 was donated by former President Pranab Mukherjee to the Paramhans Mission

For the purpose of residing in Noida Sector 26, the authority had allotted Sector 26, C-21 plot to former President Pranab Mukherjee. Although he never came to stay here permanently, he would frequently visit it.

In 1986, he donated his home to the Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission, after which the ashram was started here. There are about 25 boys living in the ashram who are mostly poor or orphans.

Pradeep, Manager of Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission Ashram, said that there are about 25 children living here. All facilities like their education and living are given by the ashram and Ramkrishna Paramahamsa School also runs in Sector 31.

During the Durga Puja, the wife of the former President visits this place and performs puja with everyone present in the ashram and all worship together.

The son of former President Pranab Mukherjee also got education from Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission in Kolkata, Pranab Mukherjee has an unbreakable relationship with the institution and he was impressed and donated his land to house the ashram.

Ramakrishna Mission is a Hindu religious and spiritual organisation which forms the core of a worldwide spiritual movement known as the Ramakrishna Mission or the Vedanta Movement.The mission is named after and inspired by the Indian saint Ramakrishna Parmahansa and founded by Ramakrishna's chief disciple Swami Vivekananda on 1 May 1897. The organization mainly propagates the Hindu philosophy of Vedanta–Advaita Vedanta and four yogic ideals–jnana, bhakti, karma, and Raja Yoga.

Apart from religious and spiritual teaching the organization carries out extensive educational and philanthropic work in India.
