Fire breaks out in Shahbad dairy area in Delhi; no causalities reported till now

New Delhi: A fire has broken out at the Shahbad dairy area of Delhi's Rohini on Thursday midnight. As many as twenty fire tenders rushed to the spot after the incident was reported. Firefighting operation is underway. 

According to the fire official, as many as 70-80 huts gutted into the fire. This is not the first time that a massive fire broke out in the area. However, the reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. 

"Twenty fire tenders are involved in the operation. Fire is under control now. No casualty has been reported. Cause of fire is unknown," said Dharampal Bhardwaj, deputy chief fire officer.

Earlier on Sunday, a person died in a fire incident that broke out at Delhi Gate in New Delhi. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse off the fire.

"We received a call at 12:04 am that fire broke out near BSNL building at Delhi gate. Immediately the fire tenders were rushed to the spot," a fire official said.

On Friday morning, a minor fire broke out at one of the rooms in Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi, which was put out by firefighters within a few minutes.

"The fire started in an AC stabiliser and electrical wires in an office room of the Information and Broadcasting Ministry," said Atul Garg, Director, Delhi Fire Service.

A fire call was made at 11.40 am, following which six fire tenders were sent to the spot. The fire was brought under control at 11.50 am. It was the second fire reported in Shastri Bhawan in a week. 

A fire was reported at an office of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on Tuesday.
