New Delhi: Amid the violent clashes in Delhi, Mahendra Singh and Inderjit Singh used their bike and scooty to save the life of more than 50 Muslim neighbours and took them to a safe place.
The father-son duo helped Muslim neighbours to shift in batches to the nearest Muslim locality of Kardampuri from Gokulpuri.
Talking to ETV Bharat Mahendra Singh said that he and his son took three to four women and children at a time on their bike and scooty and two to three boys at a time to Kardampuri.
We gave turbans to Muslim men so that they could not be recognized, he said.
I was sixteen in 1984 when the 1984 anti-Sikh riots took place. This violence reminded me of that, he added.
He saved people because he was saved by someone at that time.
