New Delhi: Former Minister of State for External Affairs and Member of Parliament from Patiala, Preneet Kaur on Sunday joined Congress MPs from Punjab, Haryana, Bihar and Chhattisgarh to protest and demand the government to repeal farm acts in the winter session of the parliament.
Pointing out that many sections of society are now supporting farmers, she said the protests will only grow with time and that's why there's a need to listen to the farmers and finish the talk in next round of parliament session to bring new laws as farmers want.
Kaur added that since "the democratic voices are not heard" the farmers protest in India is getting international attention.
"Usually the sovereign right of a country is its own and we stand by it. Nobody should interfere but I think the government should listen to the voice of the farmers and the internal voice in the country. It should be settled internally as it impacts the Indian citizens, the Indian farmers in this case. Rest we cannot stop anybody giving an opinion," she added.
