New Delhi:Yogendra Yadav, the founder of Swaraj India political party, who is also associated with Samyukt Kisan Morcha, shared his thoughts on several issues related to the ongoing farmers' protest against the three agriculture laws. In a conversation with ETV Delhi State Editor Vishal Suryakant, Yogendra Yadav talks about the government's stand, the direction of the movement, and the electoral politics.
Yogendra Yadav said that Delhi may be their protest site but their movement is stronger and resonates deeply in the villages across India. He added that every day 200 people would visit the 'Kisan Sansad' in Jantar Mantar and this time the protest will be in a controlled and disciplined manner.
On the question of the Republic Day violence in 2021, Yogendra Yadav said why should we remember the farmers' movement of 26 January 2021 because of some people? We can't ignore the fact that lakhs of farmers carrying the Tricolour in their hands entered Delhi. On the question of the nation-wide validity and acceptability of the farmers' movement, Yogendra Yadav said that it is true that the movement is not pan-India but that doesn't mean the movement has no takers in the rest of the country. It doesn't mean that we have zero presence.
Yogendra Yadav said that the path is very straight. The farmers did not ask for the law and neither their opinion was sought. The government should take it back. He further added that the agriculture laws are dead but their death certificate is yet to be signed by the government.
