New Delhi:After most of the exit polls predicted that the Narendra Modi-led NDA would retain power with a clear majority, political analyst Shashidhar Pathak said that the exit polls are based on estimations and hence people should not jump to conclusions yet.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Pathak said, "One cannot make assumptions yet. All exit polls are based on estimations and are hence not concrete. One must wait till May 23 for the actual results."
Reacting to the Opposition's reservations on the EVMs post the declaration of exit polls, he said, "The exit polls suggest that the BJP-led NDA might win. It is understandable that the Opposition is trying to find excuses. However, EVM malfunction cannot be completely ruled out as a number of instances of faulty EVMs were reported during the polls."
