New Delhi: Days after Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta and his party's MLAs were detained for alleged violation of lockdown norms, they once again initiated a door-to-door campaign program to speak out the 'achievements' of the party, in the last one year.

The party chief said that their target is to reach at least 15 lakh population of the national capital. Apart from the canvassing program, Gupta also said that the party will aware the citizens about the necessary measures to arrest the spread of COVID-19 virus.

"We have a target of distributing face masks, hand gloves and sanitisers to more than 15 lakh people," said Adesh.

While speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Gupta said, "We have initiated a door to door campaign in order to make Delhiites aware of the 'achievements' of the Prime Minister led-government in the last one year."

When asked about the achievements of the Modi government for the Delhiites, the Delhi BJP president said, "We have solved some of the country's most complex issues such as the abrogation of the Article 370, which provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir. We have solved the issue of citizenship by implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act. We have also taken firm steps to build the Ram temple in Ayodhya."

Gupta further asserted that the party has also taken a determined stand while dealing with Pakistan. "We had planned a surgical strike in order to reply to our neighbouring country in their own language i.e., 'Surgical Strike'."

He further maintained that the government in its second term gave its nod for the regularisation of 'unauthorised colonies' in the national capital, which will benefit more than one lakh Delhiites.

BJP is spending hundreds of crores on the virtual rally. Do you think it is necessary to spend such a humongous amount during this pandemic?

"Our party is the first state to organise a virtual rally in the country. The step was taken in order to aware the citizens about the achievements of the party. We have also contacted the youth wing through the various social media platform. Nothing wrong in it," said Gupta.

He further urged Delhi Chief Minister to focus only on the issue of coronavirus.

"I urged CM Kejriwal to focus only on the healthcare of Delhi. People are dying of the deadly virus. So, please help in getting medical facilities to the people rather politicising the issue at the time of crisis," added Gupta.
