DU: Over 80 percent seats filled; seats available for less popular courses

New Delhi: The admission process in Delhi University is still on even if seats in many popular courses have already been filled, official sources said.

Over 80 per cent of seats in the university have already been filled against the first two cut-off lists. However, a number of seats in several courses are still available for reserved categories, they said.

The admission process for the academic year of 2020-21 completely remains an online affair because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The admission process under the second cut-off began on Monday and concluded on October 21.

The third cut off list is out, and for admission in courses like B A Honours in Political Science, B A Honours in Computer science, it is fixed at 94 per cent for students of general category. For Hindi Honours, it is fixed at 79 per cent, whereas for Philosophy Honours it is 89.5 per cent and for B A Honours in Environmental Science, it is fixed at 92 per cent.

Admission under the third cut-off list can be secured till 5 pm on October 28.

Meanwhile, the classes for first-year students are likely to start from November 1.
