New Delhi: Thunderstorms in Pakistan caused temporary damage to eight newly constructed domes of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Narowal.
Out of these eight domes, at least four - two on the minarets above the museum and one each on Darshani Deori and Dewanistan - were uprooted.
The Sanctum sanctorum, however, remains unharmed.
The Gurudwara was closed on March 15, 2020, after COVID-19 outbreak.
It was inaugurated on November 9, 2019, by PM Narendra Modi from the Indian side and Pakistan PM Imran Khan from across the border.
The pictures of damaged minarets were posted on social media and Pakistan’s Federal minister for Science and Technology said, “Conveyed this to Noor Ul Haq Qadri sb, minister religious affairs with request for an enquiry”.
