New Delhi: After attending the all-party meeting ahead of the parliament session, DMK parliamentary committee leader TR Baalu on Thursday said that the Dravidian party MPs will level their objections against the recently passed Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Population Register (NPR) and extraction of hydrocarbon in TN delta districts as well.
Speaking to reporters here at Tamil Nadu House in New Delhi, the DMK leader said the BJP has passed the controversial CAA with its thumbing majority in the house.
"The DMK will raise this issue(CAA) in the parliament following the president's address. We have mentioned this in the all-party meeting in which PM and other senior leaders participated here," Baalu told the media.
He further added that Union Government's move to explore and extract hydrocarbon in the delta districts of Tamil Nadu will be another subject which DMK has planned to level in the upcoming session.
"If the hydrocarbon project was allowed in the delta districts including Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur, it will cause destruction to the farming activities and agriculture," he added.
