Distraught over suicide by girlfriend, man ends life

A 21-year-old taxi driver hanged himself to death after his girlfriend committed suicide. However, it was yet to be confirmed whether his "girlfriend" actually committed suicide or not. Further investigation is on.

New Delhi:Distraught over the suicide committed by his girlfriend, a 21-year-old taxi driver allegedly hanged himself to death in his residence at Khichdipur in East Delhi, police said Tuesday.

They were informed about the incident by his neighbours.

Police said a few days back he had gone to Hathras, where his girlfriend lived.

He ended his life the same night when got to know about the incident.

The police, however, said it was yet to be confirmed whether his "girlfriend" committed suicide or not.

Meanwhile, the inquest proceedings have been initiated, police said.
