East Delhi (Delhi): The person, who was arrested by Delhi police on Monday, has been termed as innocent by his family members.
The person has been identified as Mohammad Danish. He has been arrested in connection with a case of rioting and criminal conspiracy pertaining to communal violence in north-east Delhi.
According to sources, Delhi police have stated that Danish was a member of the Popular Front of India (PFI) and police have also alleged that he was involved in funding the riots and the ongoing agitations against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) in Shaheen Bagh.
Speaking to media persons, Danish's mother has said, "He runs a mobile shop in Trilokpuri area as well as pursuing LLB from a college in Ghaziabad. He was associated with the PFI, but he has no connection with the performance against the CAA. During Shahinbag protest, once he has given food to the protesters. My son is totally innocent."
