New Delhi: Ever since the communal clash broke out in North East Delhi, the areas bordering Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have been put on high alert.

Though people in areas adjacent to these two states like Indira Puri and Gurudwara Road felt the heat of violence, nothing happened in their locality.

"Through the incidents started in the adjacent locality, nothing happened in our area. Police have been deployed in our locality," said a resident of Indira Puri.
Echoing the same view, another resident said that the area has a mix population of Hindus and Muslims "but we all live together." However, a few schools remain closed ever since the violence broke out.
The Gurudwara school in Indira Puri is one such example which is closed and the premises have been used by paramilitary forces. "The Gurudwara Road is adjacent to the violence-affected areas, nothing took place here...everything is normal. Even a wedding took place here yesterday," said a resident. Talking to ETV Bharat, a police officer on duty said that they have been patrolling in the area since Sunday.
