Delhi riots were like 26/11 terror attack: Kapil Mishra

Violence in north-east Delhi during last week of February - after weeks of protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Register of Citizens - had left over 50 people dead and hundreds others injured.

New Delhi: Emphasizing that people like Umar Khalid, former Jawaharlal Nehru University student and ex-AAP leader Tahir Hussain, planned February Delhi riots, BJP leader Kapil Mishra has said that the riots in the capital city were like 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai.

In a statement issued here, the BJP leader said he wants to congratulate Delhi Police for arresting Khalid and others involved in the riots.

"It was a planned attack on people of Delhi," he said, adding that people like Zakir Naik and other terrorists supported likes of Khalid and Hussain.

"I hope people being arrested in connection with the riots would be hanged," he said.
