Delhi Ranjit Nagar rape accused involved in sexual crimes

A person who has raped a seven-year-old minor girl in the Ranjit Nagar area had also committed a similar crime in Indrapuri area just four days ago.

New Delhi:A person who has raped a seven-year-old minor girl in the Ranjit Nagar area had also committed a similar crime in Indra Puri area just four days ago. A case has been registered against the accused at Indra Puri police station for raping a six-year-old. The minor has identified the accused with his photograph. In a police investigation, the accused informed the police that he has raped the minor on Oct 18.

A seven-year-old girl was raped in Ranjit Nagar area on October 22. Following which police registered the case and searched around 800 CCTV cameras installed in the area. The CCTV revealed that the accused had gone towards West Delhi via Shadipur after the incident. The police followed his path and further discovered that a similar incident took place in the Indrapuri area on October 18. While another was in March at the Raghuveer Nagar area, the accused Sooraj was arrested.

When the police investigated the matter further and checked the dossier at Khyala police station it found that the Sooraj and a person in CCTV footage is the same. After which the police team launched the hunt and arrested him from Haryana. During the investigation when the police showed the accused's photo to the victim she recognised him and said that he had raped her. In the interrogation, the accused further accepted that he came to Delhi on October 18. During his visit, he went to the Indrapuri area and raped the minor. He further said that after the incident he went back to Rajasthan.

So far three cases have been lodged against the accused in different cities.
