New Delhi:The Congress on Saturday evening released its first list of 54 candidates for the February 8 Delhi Assembly elections, which included the names of two former MLAs who recently switched allegiances from the Aam Aadmi Party.
Former AAP MLA Alka Lamba, who had switched over to the Congress earlier in September 2019, has been fielded from Chandni Chowk constituency.
After being snubbed by the Kejriwal-led party, sitting AAP MLA Adarsh Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, formally joined the Congress earlier today.
Shastri will once again contest from Dwarka this time around, albeit on a Congress ticket.
