New Delhi: The Delhi Police have lodged an FIR against unknown people at the Alipur police station after clashes were reported last Friday between farmers and police teams at Singhu border in which public properties were damaged.
On November 27, in view of the protests organised by different farmers' unions against the recently passed farm laws, the police force was deployed at Singhu border to maintain law and order.
According to the police, at about 12:15 p.m., the protesters became violent and tried to enter into Delhi in large numbers.
Delhi Police later resorted to firing tear gas shells to deter a group of farmers which had reached the Singhu border.
Multiple tear gas shells were fired as the farmers approached the barbed barricades set up by the Delhi Police at the Singhu border that connects Narela to Sonepat in Haryana.
