Delhi Police arrest accused in 'rice pulling scam' from Jaipur

New Delhi:The Economic Offense Wing (EOW) of the Delhi police on Sunday arrested Bhavani Singh, an accused in the 'Rice Pulling Scam' case from Jaipur, Rajasthan.

The accused, wanted in a number of similar cases, is said to be an active member of a cheating gang.

Singh, a resident of Jaipur was arrested by a joint team under the supervision of DCP Mohammad Ali, ACP Ramesh Kumar Narang, Sub Inspector Amit Beniwal, Ashwani and Constable Sandeep on the basis of technical surveillance, according to Additional Commissioner RK Singh.

The matter came to the fore when a big businessman living in Delhi had complained to the police about the cheating case, in which Bhawani Singh and 22 other people were also accused. The accused person had duped the complainant a total sum of Rs.10.63 Crores between 2016 and 2018.

In this connection, an FIR was registered in the EOW in September 2019. Since then the team was trying to find out about Bhavani Singh.

During interrogation, it was also found that he is involved in over six other cheating cases.
