Delhi: Country's first post-COVID clinic to open on Thursday

The country's first post-COVID clinic will open in Delhi's Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendar Jain will inaugurate the facility on Thursday.

New Delhi:The Delhi-government run Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital will start a post-COVID clinic to analyse patients seeing a re-emergence of coronavirus symptoms after recovering from the infection. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejariwal will inaugurate the clinic on Thursday.

According to Dr BL Sherwal, medical director of the hospital, they have received calls from patients who had recovered but have reported symptoms again.

"The country's first post-COVID clinic will be started in Delhi's Rajiv Gandhi Super Specialty Hospital. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendar Jain will inaugurate it tomorrow," Dr Sherwal said.

"We have received calls from patients who have said that their saturation levels have gone down or they are experiencing breathlessness. At the clinic, we will be carrying out CT scan of the lungs and other tests to see whether the healing process is different in different patients, the symptoms and why is it re-emerging," he said.

"This post-COVID clinic will also have lab, X-ray and CT-scan for blood tests and other tests. Apart from this, yoga and counselling will also be provided to patients if required," he added.
