Delhi cops ramp up preventive measures in police station

In a bid to keep police personnel safe from COVID-19 infection, Preet Vihar police station of East Delhi has kept a special kit in the police station.

New Delhi:After several cases of corona infection have been witnessed among the Delhi police personnel, the cops are started taking special precautions in the police station.

In a bid to keep police personnel safe from COVID-19 infection, Preet Vihar police station of East Delhi has kept a special kit in the police station.

The sanitizing machine has been installed at the police station's doorstep so that each and every person first sanitizes himself and then enters inside the police station.

Speaking to ETV Bharat in an exclusive interaction, Mahendra Kumar Mishra, SHO, Preet Vihar police station, said, "As per the instructions of the top officials, all necessary security measures were taken in the police station in view of the corona. Along with this, special measures have been taken to sanitize the police station. For this, a special kit has been placed at the station gate so that people are thoroughly sanitized before entering the police station. This kit has been designed at a nominal cost."

Steps of sanitising before entering to the police station

• On entering the police station, the plastic tray is placed for a few seconds to sanitize the bottom of the shoe or sandal with disinfectant present in the tray.
• Along with this, the security personnel present at the gate advise reading the security instructions written there.
• After exiting the gate, the footboard is placed to wipe the shoe or sandal. Along with this, security personnel sanitizes by spraying medicine on the upper part of shoes or slippers.
• The hands are strictly advised to be thoroughly washed with soap. For this, hot water has been provided.
• Security personnel check the body temperature of the person. Entry is denied if a person's body temperature is high.
• Mobile, bag, and other goods are sanitized after temperature check.

"Entry is not given to anyone in the police station without a mask. Police personnel have been instructed to take care of social distancing as well as in the premises of the police station," Mishra added.
