Child dies in Delhi hospital, family alleges medical negligence

A father alleged that the his son died due to medical negligence of doctors at the Ambedkar hospital in Rohini. His son's medical condition deteriorating as the doctors were waiting for COVID-19 test report.

New Delhi:In an alleged case of medical negligence, a eleven-year-old boy died at a private hospital on July 7 here in Rohini after being admitted with high fever.

Vinod, a resident of Sultanpuri alleged that his son was not provided proper treatment as doctor feared of coronavirus.

Manish, who developed fever few days back was referred to the hospital after his parents consulted few local doctors.

Reportedly, the Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini asked Vinod to submit Rs 2 lakh for the treatment.

Vinod, a daily-wage labourer urged the doctors to admit his son on July 5. Manish's medical condition deteriorated while doctors were waiting for COVID-19 test report.

The COVID-19 test report declared that the child was negative on July 7.

In a video clip, Manish's father has alleged that due to negligence of medical staffs and doctors his son died. Later on, the video went viral on social media.

He has urged the government to take strict actions against the hospital administration and people responsible.
