New Delhi: With the national capital remaining closed for weeks under the country-wide lockdown, public places, including markets, educational institutions and other establishments, wore a deserted look and only dogs could be seen sitting around.

Dogs take over CP during lockdown

It seems the dogs have taken the charge of the areas in absence of people.

An ETV Bharat correspondent visited Connaught Place, popularly known as CP, and found out that only dogs were sitting or walking in the market, which may not have experienced such a situation in decades.

The market, which is full of people during normal situation, it seems, is missing all who would visit it even if they don't have to buy anything.

Since it's placed in the heart of the capital, people from all areas of the large city would come and spend some time with their loved ones here while shopping or dinning out.

The market, which has global chain stores, vintage cinemas, bars and Indian restaurants, was made to serve the elite living in Delhi during the British period.

Most of the outlets have message pasted on the doors that they are closed in view of the lockdown, and would reopen soon after it was lifted.

The BJP-led NDA government at the centre had imposed a 21-day lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus, which has killed thousands across the world.
