Covid report mandatory to enter Delhi

The new rule is applicable for travellers coming into Delhi by flight, train and bus. People arriving by cars are exempted. The order takes effect from February 26 and will remain till March 15.

New Delhi: In the wake of a spike in Covid-19 cases in parts of the country, the government in Delhi has made Covid negative report mandatory for people visiting Delhi. The order takes effect from February 26 and will remain till March 15.

The new rule is applicable for travellers coming into Delhi by flight, train and bus. People arriving by cars are exempted.

Tests will be conducted for visitors unable to produce a Covid negative report. Those who test positive would be sent to 14 days quarantine.

Covid-19 cases have witnessed an alarming surge recently especially in Kerala, Maharastra, Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab. Reports suggested that 86% of Covid cases were from these states.

Delhi government would direct nodal officers of these states to ensure that people coming to Delhi from their state have a negative RT-PCR test report produced in 72 hours.
