New Delhi: In the wake of rising crimes against women in India, All India Mahila Congress held a solidarity march, 'Main Sahas hun' (I am Courage) from Mandi house to Jantar Mantar, in the national capital, on Friday.
With candles held in their hands and black badges tied over their forehead, hundreds of women raised slogans against the BJP government and the people who have been accused of the heinous crime of rape.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Chief, Kumari Shelja said, "Mahila Congress has organized this march against the rising atrocities against women . Until the BJP government takes some strict action against the accused of these crimes, the numbers will keep on increasing. This government needs to set an example of prevailing justice to the rape victims of our country."
Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate said, "The kind of crime that we are seeing against women is deplorable. We, as women, need to come together and raise our voices. We are not victims, we are not going to bow down before these crimes, before violence, we are courage."
