Cong leader Sandeep Dikshit slams Kejriwal over COVID 'mismanagement'

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his handling of the COVID-19 situation. He also held Kejriwal responsible for so many COVID deaths in Delhi and demanded that a murder charge should be brought against Delhi CM.

New Delhi: Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has hit out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his handling of the COVID-19 situation in the national capital.

In a video message, Dikshit, the son of former Congress veteran, late Sheila Dikshit, also held Kejriwal responsible for so many COVID deaths in Delhi and demanded that a murder charge should be brought against him.

Slamming the Delhi CM further, the Congress leader said that instead of making better health infrastructures, Kejriwal solely focussed on providing freebies to people just to win elections.

"This government cheapened the lives of people in the greed of votes. Instead of giving everything for free, if the Aam Admi Party(AAP) government would have focussed on opening hospitals, the situation in Delhi might have been far better today. This is the reason I want an FIR to be filed against Kejriwal," Dikshit added.

He also slammed the Delhi government for indulging in the blame-game politics instead of installing oxygen plants in Delhi.

Delhi recorded 332 more COVID-19 deaths and 17,364 new infections on Saturday, while the positivity rate remained below 25% for the third consecutive day, the Health Department said.

The death toll rose 19,021, while there are 87,907 active cases, the bulletin said.
