New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Tuesday seized foreign currency at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi.
The Japanese Yen was worth Rs 21 lakhs. About five in the morning the CISF observed a passenger suspiciously wandering at Security Hold Area (SHA) of Terminal-3. The CISF closely monitored his movements for a while. Soon, he was detained and was checked thoroughly.
"The detained passenger is an Indian. He was going to Tokyo Narita by Air India flight No.AI-1306 (STD-2200 hrs). When his bags were checked, the CISF noticed suspicious things inside their bags. CISF personnel noticed a suspicious image of currency notes inside the handbag of that passenger," a senior official of CISF informed.
