New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is mulling proposals to bring amendments in its policies to ensure food safety and security in India.
"If we can make our country polio-free, I believe we can also ensure food safety and food security to 132 crores Indians," said Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan. He further said that if necessary his ministry will bring amendments in its rules and regulations.
"We need an institutionalised mechanism through which we can bring food safety and ensure that the food reaches to the needy," he said.
