New Delhi:Most of the central and northern parts of India is likely to witness intense heatwave in the coming days, with the maximum temperature expected to touch 45-degree Celsius, predicts the Indian Meteorological Department.
"Heatwave conditions are likely in several parts of Vidarbha and in pockets of East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada in coming days," the India Meteorological Department stated in its advisory on Thursday.
Weather experts believe that these heatwaves are likely to continue till May end.
"Previous heatwaves in north India were broken by thunderstorms, which also brought winds and flash flood but the new heatwave condition is expected to last for entire May," said Accuweather, a private weather forecasting agency.
