New Delhi:After series of news making rounds that Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled remaining board examinations of class 10th and the students will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment, the board has clarified that no such announcement has been made by them.

The apex body responsible for conducting board examinations released a clarification on Wednesday reiterating that remaining examinations of class 10th will be conducted and said that an adequate time of 10 days will be given to all the stakeholders before starting the examinations.

Thus, there is no change in position by CBSE to hold the examinations and the board has said that it remains firm on its previous announcement that the examination for all remaining 29 main subjects marked by the board will be conducted after assessing the situation post lockdown.

The HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also said that the remaining board examinations will be conducted by CBSE once the situation gets to normal while interacting with the parents from across the country on Monday.

However, the Education Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia did urge the MHRD to take a call on board examinations saying that it would not be possible to conduct board examinations now.

He had suggested promoting the students on the basis of internal assessment while interacting with the HRD Minister and other state education ministers through video conferencing.

The news of the cancellation of 10th board examinations started making rounds after Sisodia shared a statement regarding his demands to MHRD on social media.
