BJP's Bagga issued notice over campaign song video

BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, who has been fielded from Hari Nagar, was issued a notice by the Election Commission over his campaign video song. Bagga has claimed that the song was released before he filed his nomination, after he was asked for an explanation on why the expenditure for the song shouldn't be added to his election expenses.

New Delhi:Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, BJP's candidate from the Hari Nagar seat, has run into trouble after he was issued a notice by the Returning Officer over his campaign song video.

He has been directed to state within 48 hours why the expenditure for the song shouldn't be computed and added to his election expenses.

The notice also states that the decision of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) will be final on the subject if Bagga fails to reply within the prescribed time.

'Song released before filing nomination,' Bagga claims

Reacting to the notice, Bagga claimed that the song was released before he has filed his nomination and had only been re-posted now.

"This song was released before my nomination and has only been re-posted now. I respect the Election Commmission and our lawyers are replying to them," he said.

Bagga further pointed fingers towards the Aam Aadmi Party, claiming that Arvind Kejriwal was scared the party might lose out on Hari Nagar because the former was contesting from here.

'Bagga Bagga Har Jagah'

Within two hours of being named as the BJP's candidate Twitter-savvy Bagga had a rap song -- "bagga bagga har jagah"-- ready for his campaign.

The song talks about how he is ready to take on the opponents in the upcoming Assembly polls in the national capital.

"How is the josh? #Baggabagga har jagah," he captioned the rap song on Twitter.

Bagga is in the fray against Aam Aadmi Party's Princess Dhillon and Congress' Surender Sethi.
