New Delhi: Kamal Farooqi, secretary of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi led-central government saying that party's agenda has shifted from development to negative politics.
Taking with ETV Bharat, Farooqui has strongly condemned abrogation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and criminalisation of instant triple talaq which are listed among the major achievements in the Modi government's 100-day report card presented on Sunday by Union Minister Prakash Javdekar.
He further said, "The triple talaq bill was politically motivated and its sole aim was the destruction of Muslim families by making them fight legal cases and go bankrupt. If it is counted in achievements of a government then it clearly shows that it is negative politics and not success."
Posing a rhetorical question he said: "Is this law benefiting the muslim women or families ?" He said the bill is arbitary in nature and will target Muslim men.
