New Delhi: To ensure food for needy people amid the on-going 21-day lockdown, enforced to stop the spread of coronavirus, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara has been distributing cooked meals in parts of the national capital with the help of state administration.
"Thousands of people are being given food on a daily basis. Our van reaches where it's needed after a call is received. People staying in government schools and in other facilities are being provided with food by us. Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee gets the food ready and we distribute it with the help of local administration," Harvinder Singh, who is involved in the service, told ETV Bharat here.
He said all precautions are taken so that the killer disease does not spread as they serve people.
"Social distancing is kept in mind while queues are made for food distribution," he said, adding that their service is available to all and the distribution van is just a call away from the needy.
