Delhi SDM, team attacked by night curfew violators

The incident happened when the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and his team were patrolling Gandhi Nagar area in East Delhi.

New Delhi:The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Gandhi Nagar, East Delhi was attacked by local youths with stones and glass bottles on Thursday night. The incident happened when the SDM and his team were patrolling the area to keep track of the night curfew and adherence to corona protocols.

The youths were fined Rs 2,000 for not wearing masks in public. They entered into a fight with the officials after being stopped for checking.

None were grievously injured, however, a women suffered minor injuries on her feet.

Rajesh Mittal, team in-charge of the inspection team said the matter has been taken care of and an investigation is underway.
