New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared before the CBI for questioning in the Delhi liquor policy case on Sunday after paying his tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. This comes after his former deputy Manish Sisodia was arrested last month by the investigating agency. Sisodia is presently languishing at Tihar Jail on judicial custody.
Speaking to reporters before entering the CBI office, Kejriwal hinted that he might be arrested by the agency officials because the BJP leaders are talking about it. The CBI is controlled by the BJP, he alleged.
Earlier, in a dig aimed at the BJP, Kejriwal said that some 'anti-national' forces do not want India to develop. These forces do not want India to have proper schools or hospitals, he added. However, he assured that India will brush aside these forces and continue to progress come what may. The AAP chief was seen accompanied by top leaders of his party including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

In a video address, the DelhiChief Minister said that he will truthfully and honestly answer all questions asked by the CBI. He has nothing to hide because he has not done anything wrong, he added. Taking a jibe at the BJP he said that it looks as if the BJP has ordered CBI to arrest him. "They are very powerful and can send anyone to jail," he added in a dig aimed at the saffron brigade who, the AAP has alleged, to be weaponising the central agencies to target opposition leaders, especially the AAP.
Among the AAP heavyweights, apart from the Punjab Chief Minister, members of his cabinet including Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Atishi, Rajkumar Anand, Imam Hussain and Gopal Rai also accompanyied him to the CBI office.
CBI may question Kejriwal on the statements of other accused where they stated that the liquor policy was supposed to favour the 'South liquor lobby', news agency PTI reported. In addition to that, the CBI may also ask about his role in the formulation of the excise policy before it was approved.
